The Builders Box is a collection of 100 unique artworks showcasing 80 artists’ interpretation of a Box. The project was conceived to foster collaboration in the NFT art space and build an international community of artists from different genres, styles, popularity, backgrounds, etc. represented by a visually recognisable thematic art collection.

The collection was released on 2nd October, 2023 as a blind mint utilising the Drops functionality of Foundation and all 100 artworks were sold-out in less than 50 minutes.

The project stands as a true embodiment of The Builders DAO’s mission to build Web3 bridges between artists and collectors. Artists enjoyed the opportunity to connect with new collectors through the randomised drop mechanism and collectors enjoyed the opportunity to collect from a set of 100 curated artworks with the added fun twist of blind minting. The project expanded the concept of the virtuous circular economy started by The Builders World on Foundation (where revenues from the art sale of one artist are reinvested in acquiring art from another artist and both artists & collectors are invited to join the DAO community) with added aspects of gamification. This fostered stronger bonds between Builders owing to the shared fun experiences throughout the journey of the project, right from the creation of artworks to the reveal event.

To extend the opportunity to artists beyond DAO members, two art competitions were hosted with the winners being selected to be a part of the project and given an opportunity to win 0.5 ETH apart from earning the revenue from the sale of their Box themed artworks.

The Builders Box project also encompassed one of the best integrated virtual & IRL events the NFT space has ever witnessed. Owing to the blind nature of the mint, the reveal of the artworks was a special occasion for everyone. Hence, the collection was exhibited IRL in Milan at an art gallery during the Milan Digital Week and virtually in The Builders Box Oncyber Gallery. The reveal of the artworks was coordinated to happen simultaneously on Foundation and both the galleries. This event brought together Builders from all over the world as they joined the livestream at the virtual gallery or attended IRL in Milan.

Thus, The Builders Box, the first major project of The Builders DAO is a testament to what can be achieved through a focus on art, collaboration across diversity and planning for inclusion.
